""Reduced Tillage LINKAGES (RTL) is an extension organization that focuses on increasing the adoption of sustainable production systems, based on reduced tillage, by Alberta farmers and ranchers. The program is a partnership with broad-based farmer, industry, educational, wildlife, and government support and employs five agronomists.

Mission Statement:

To be the leading agricultural extension organization in Alberta focused on increasing the adoption of sustainable production systems by Alberta farmers and ranchers. LINKAGES = Leadership, Innovation and Networking for Knowledge, Agricultural Growth, and Environmental Sustainability.

Goals & Objectives:
  1. Increase the adoption of sustainable production systems based on reduced tillage.
  2. Increase awareness of the positive effects of reduced tillage systems on climate change adaptation, greenhouse gas emissions or carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide, and carbon sequestration.
  3. Reduce cropping risk.
  4. Increase the awareness of the positive effects of reduced tillage on surface water quality.
