National Crop Residue Management Survey
The National Crop Residue Management (CRM) Survey is the only survey in the U.S. to measure at the county level the type of tillage used by crop. Tillage methods tracked are: no-till, mulch-till, reduced-till, and conventional tillage. Click here to see the tillage definitions.
Data is available online from 1989 to 2008. Some of the data can be accessed without a password (unsecured data) and the rest requires a log in and password (secured data). Passwords are given to institutional and corporate members of CTIC. Read more information about how to become a member. Our last full set of National Data was taken in 2004. Since 2004 a limited number of counties have continued to collect data on a voluntary basis but we have not collected full national data since 2004.
