National Aquatic Resource Surveys Workshop

November 1-5, 2021 (RESCHEDULED)

A note from the organizers:
The increase in cases of the Covid delta variant have resulted in recent travel restrictions. Given that, we have decided to postpone the NARS National 2021 work shop to early April of 2022, with the hope of holding it in-person and live streamed to a home audience at the same time.

We are currently planning on holding several “pre-workshop” webinar trainings over the winter months leading up to the April 2022 work shop.
Be sure to watch your email for announcements regarding the webinar trainings!

Please note: We want to thank those who applied for travel scholarships. With the event being postponed to April 2022, we plan to re-open the scholarship application process early 2022.

We are pleased to announce that CTIC is coordinating a National Aquatic Resource Surveys (NARS) Workshop under a Cooperative Agreement with EPA’s NARS program. The workshop will be held in Chicago Illinois, November 2-4, 2021. (November 1 and 5 are fly in/fly out days).

NARS is a collaborative program between EPA, states and tribes designed to assess the quality of the nation's coastal waters, lakes and reservoirs, rivers and streams, and wetlands using a statistical survey design. This workshop will cover topics relevant to all four waterbody types and the NARS program generally. We are working with our state/tribal/EPA Advisory Committee to develop the agenda for the workshop. Once the agenda once is finalized, it will be posted on this webpage.

This event is being planned for in-person attendance and will be live-streamed to a home audience for those that cannot travel. This event follows on others hosted by CTIC including a national workshop in Silver Spring, MD in 2017 and one in Denver, CO in 2019.
